Softball Cricket Tournament Follow-Up Event
The Anpuneri Panchenai Village Development Society organized an inter-village softball cricket tournament to bring together young players from surrounding hamlets and foster community spirit. Teams from ten villages competed on the village grounds, with standout performances by local youth celebrated by society representatives. The follow-up event—held annually—features opening and closing ceremonies, awards for top players, and opportunities for participants to share experiences and strengthen ties across the region.

4th Annual Fundraising Dinner
Anpuneri’s fourth Annual Dinner featured a full program including traditional lamp lighting, National Anthem and Thamil Thai Vazhthu, presentations by partner NGOs (IMHO, VAROD, CTMA, Vanni Sangam), cultural performances (fusion dance, Bharatha Kalai), cheque presentations, guest speaker Dr. Shan A. Shanmugavadivel, an auction, dinner, music & dance, and a vote of thanks by the secretary, capped off by the Master of Ceremonies Ramanan Santhirasegaramoorthi.
Inauguration of the “2009 Nihethanam” Girls’ Centre Block
A new block—named “2009 Nihethanam” in honour of Anpuneri’s founding year—was blessed and declared open by Rt. Rev. Dr. Rajappu Joseph, Bishop of Mannar and VAROD patron. The facility provides upgraded dormitory, cloakroom, and night-washroom amenities for 15 differently-abled female residents, supported by Misereor-Germany, Anpuneri Canada (VAROD Canada Foundation), and other donors.
