As part of Phase II, Anpuneri constructed an 18 × 30 sq ft building now used for preschool in the mornings and vocational training in the afternoons. At the formal opening ceremony we also distributed school supplies and reusable clothing. Village volunteers helped build the centre—fostering community cohesion—and we provided self-earning support to 17 families. Total cost: $3,700.
Anpuneri distributed reusable clothing to 100 people, then selected 10 families to receive micro-credit facilities to launch self-earning projects. Total cost: $1,500.
To support children’s physical development, Anpuneri rebuilt the Kurakkan Kaddu preschool playground in Kandawalai and provided new play equipment. This benefits over 250 local children, and we also delivered school bags and supplies to more than 65 students. Project cost: approximately $2,000.
In Maravankulam settlement (North Vavuniya District), we funded the drilling and fitting of a well to supply drinking water to the local daycare centre managed by CACM. Total cost: $1,700.
