In 2021, Anpuneri invested $19,320 (later increased to $37,115) in the Periyakulam Village Development Organization to meet needs identified through a community assessment: supplying six bicycles for students who walk over 5 km to school; funding after-school programs at Periyakulam village and Manivasagar Vidyalayam; delivering COVID-19 dry-food relief; completing the goat-hut construction payment; preparing paddy fields; and purchasing a Landmaster vehicle in the association’s name for program logistics.
Simultaneously, we provided targeted support to the Panchenai Village Development Organization for its priority initiatives: acquiring a photocopy machine; and running after-school programs for Grades 5 and 8–11 to bolster student learning and retention.
Supported after-school programming, temporary teacher salaries, and emergency COVID-19 dry-food distributions.
Anpuneri provided $4,240 through the Vanni Tamil Community and Cultural Centre (Vanni Sangam) to support financially disadvantaged families in Vanni with their children’s education—covering tuition fees, school supplies, and related expenses to help ensure continued school attendance and academic success.
